of the pay of members of Delhi Judicial Service is Rs.77840-136520.
What are the primary requirements for Delhi Judicial Service Preliminary Examination ?
A candidate shall be eligible to appear at the examination, if he is-
1- A citizen of India
2- a person practicing as an Advocate in India or a person qualified to be admitted
as an Advocate under the Advocates Act, 1961
3- not more than 32 years of age on the 1st day of January of the year in which the
applications for appointment are invited, as on 01.01.2023.
In the case of candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes / Tribes, the upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years. The upper age limit is also relaxable maximum by 5 years in the case of Ex-Servicemen and Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers or Short Service Commissioned Officers who have rendered at least five years military service and have been released on completion of assignment (including those whose assignment is due to be completed within one year) otherwise than by way of dismissal or discharge on account of misconduct or inefficiency or on account of physical disability attributable to military service or on invalidment.

Important Instructions –
The candidates applying for the examination should ensure that they fulfill
all the eligibility conditions for admission to the examination. Their
admission at all the stages of examination for which they are admitted by this
Court viz. Preliminary Examination (Objective type), Mains Examination
(Written) and the Viva-Voce shall be purely provisional, subject to their
satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions. The question of eligibility
would be thoroughly examined at the subsequent stage. If on verification at any
time before or after the Preliminary Examination (Objective Type), Mains
Examination (Written) and the Viva-Voce, it is found that they do not fulfill
any of the eligibility conditions, their candidature for the examination shall
stand cancelled without any notice or further reference.

Examination (Written), Viva-Voce, eligibility, relaxation in marks and other
general terms and conditions applicable to the candidates are given in the
Instructions available on the online portal, link for which would be available
on the website of High Court of Delhi i.e. www.delhihighcourt.nic.in. Candidates are advised to
go through the Instructions as well as the Delhi Judicial Service Rules,1970
(as amended up to 26.09.2023) before filling up the application form.
More Instructions for Delhi Judicial Service Preliminary Examination 2023-- Candidates must fill up the online application form in English language only.
- Candidates must download the Admit Card from the website of High Court of Delhi (www.delhihighcourt.nic.in) and appear at the respective examination centre with original and valid photo identity document such as Voter Identity Card, Passport, Identity Card issued by the Bar Association or a Government Authority, Aadhaar Card or PAN Card. No candidate without original and valid photo identity shall be allowed to enter the examination centre. Proof of identity in the form of image in mobile phone shall not be permitted.
- The decision of the High Court of Delhi regarding eligibility of a candidate for admission to the examination shall be final.
- A candidate in Government Service or working in a Public Sector Undertaking or in a Bank,whether in a permanent or temporary capacity, must inform his/her parent office that he/she has applied for Delhi Judicial Service Examination 2023. Suchcandidate, if selected for Viva- Voce, shall be required to produce ‘No Objection Certificate’ (in original) from his/her employer at the time of Viva-Voce. Such candidates SHOULD NOT send/forward a copy of their application form to High Court of Delhi.
- Candidate will be required to answer all questions in English, except to the extent otherwise indicated in the syllabus. Candidate should bring his/her own pencil/pen and ink but not any other articles such as notes, loose sheets etc. into the Examination hall.
