Madhya Pradesh Government Announces 5% DA Hike for Employees
Details of the DA Hike
The DA increase will be implemented in two phases:
- 3% hike effective from July 1, 2024, raising the DA to 53%.
- 2% hike effective from January 1, 2025, bringing the total DA to 55%.
Additionally, the arrears for this increase will be paid in five equal installments from June 2025 to October 2025, ensuring employees can celebrate festivals like Diwali with added financial ease. This move has been widely welcomed by employee associations, with the Madhya Pradesh Gazetted Officers Association also advocating for further benefits like 300 days of earned leave and pending promotions.
Why This Matters for MP govt Employees
Dearness Allowance is a critical component of government employees’ salaries, designed to offset the impact of inflation. With the cost of living rising, this 5% hike is a step toward ensuring financial stability for state employees. By aligning the DA with central government standards, Madhya Pradesh demonstrates its commitment to employee welfare, boosting morale and productivity.
